It is a cognitive shift prompted by a feeling of awe upon viewing the Earth from space, awakening an increased sense of connection to other people and to the Earth as a whole. The effect can cause changes in the observer’s self perception and value system and can be transformative.

In conflict, in business and, frankly, in wider life it’s so easy to lose perspective. In doing so we lose connection with ourselves and then with others and with our environment. I believe we feel shame around this, which further splits and fragments us, which can lead to a vicious cycle.

Wouldn’t it be good to be able to zoom out and get to a place of compassion, clarity and intentionality, first for ourselves and then for others and for our planet?
